Theofanopoulos?Origins of the Theofanopoulos family are from the Central Northern areas of Greece in the region of EGEON. The ancestral line is traced back to a village named Stavria which later merged and grew with Mamousia about 1 hour south west of the port city of Patra. Locating the Link from Greece to Australia: Post war immigration with assisted passage allowed Chris and John to travel to Australia, where they settled in Richmond, Victoria (Australia). Their brothers remained in Greece, with one moving to Cyprus and at the start of the 21st Century, only one of the family - Spiro - remains in the family home in Mamousia. The village is slowly losing its population as the children move to the larger cities and the older members slowly pass on. Spiro remains as the only commercial farmer in the area at the turn of the 21st century.

Christo (Chris) settled in Australia in the 1960's at 31 Crown Street, Richmond where he raised his family until he passed on. His wife and daughter Eleanor stayed on until his wife Paniota (Peta) settled in Coppin Street, Richmond. His daughter Eleanor still lives in the family home today with her own family.
